Mudlogger
Most mudloggers will tell you that very little has changed in the mudlogging business in the last 30 years. While other industries have been revolutionized by the computer age, mudlogging has remained stuck in the past. Most mudloggers now use "computerized" systems, but these systems usually consist of very old, unstable equipment which is patched into data acquisition software. Even this software tends to be older. The data acquisition software used by the majority of mudloggers employs computer technology that is more than 10 years old. The mudlogging equipment itself tends to be even older. Amazingly, the majority of mudlogging equipment in use today was manufactured more than 30 years ago. No wonder mudloggers constantly have to deal with equipment breakdowns, and oil and gas companies have to put up with so much downtime. Many mudloggers feel as if the bulk of their job consists of patching up fragile equipment that is on its last legs. These never-ending repairs are frustrating, time-consuming and utterly inefficient. Camco Logging Service owner Mike Cunningham, Jr. has been a mudlogger for most of his life. Mike began "catching samples" alongside his mudlogger dad at the tender age of 10. When Mike opened Camco for business in 1998, his ambition was to create a modern instrumentation system for his mudloggers to use in the field. Over the course of five years, the Geospect Instrument was developed, tested and revised. Today, the Geospect Instrument is the sturdiest, sleekest and smartest mudlogging system in the world--already in use at Camco Logging Service, and now available to your mudlogging business. 409-925-1274 |
