Gas Detection

Drilling wells for oil or gas extraction is your business. Mudlogging, including gas detection and analysis, is ours. The success with which a company like Camco Logging Service is able to detect and analyze gas levels and other data hinges on two things: the quality of our mudloggers, and the quality of our equipment.

We're proud to say that both our mudloggers and our mudlogging instrumentation system are the best in the world. Owner Mike Cunningham, Jr., a second-generation mudlogger who started "catchin' samples" when he was just 10 years old, opened Camco in 1998. Since then, Mike and his team have logged samples in Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and all over their home state of Texas. Recent clients include EOG, Onetec, and Lone Wolf Operating, to name just a few.

Over the past five years, Mike and his team have developed and field-tested a proprietary instrumentation system. We call this superior, state-of-the-art instrument the Geospect Instrument. One look at the Geospect will show you just how different this system really is. Click on the Geospect link to compare a photo of our system to that of a typical mudlogging system.

Most other systems are made up of equipment that was manufactured--believe it or not--over 30 years ago. Although these instruments may be patched into a hybrid of makeshift computer programs, the arrangement is little more than a band aid. Old, obsolete equipment frequently breaks down, resulting in costly downtime. The Geospect Instrument system, on the other hand, uses computer-controlled hardware that results in virtually no downtime.
